About EGERMANN Co., Ltd. ~ Bohemia Glass ~ Bohemia Crystal
Friedrich Egermann, an outstanding craftsman and artisan from the Bohemia region, was the originator of use of motives of a shell, stag and the chateau designs. In 1832, his revolutionary technical achievements such as "red-staining" brought Egermann the highest acknowledgments in glassworks. Egermann’s home and refinery were visited by important personalities, among them the emperor Ferdinand I.
Today, the Egermann Company produces an outstanding selection of mouth-blown, hand-cut and hand-painted Bohemian Glass using the same techniques of old. The tradition of the manufacture has been preserved by the Egermann Company and the mark Egermann is one of the most well-known and well-respected names in Bohemian glassworks in the world.
